Those readers who have acquired the (terrible? nasty?) habit of reading Special Education Today will understandably wonder about the title of this post including the word “video.” They’d understand, “Friday Photos” [available to paying subscribers: See images such as Cathy Griffith, Kristy Somerville-Midgette, Jason Chow (now going back to Peabody!), Betsy Talbott, Michelle Cumming, Jim Kauffman & Melody Tankersley, David Chard & Linda Lewis (an antique!), Fred & Lynn!, Mike Gerber, and others]. Also, readers may hear an echo about earlier posts regarding post-school outcomes for our kids.
Well, here’s a local wrinkle on those stories. In this YouTube video, you get to see my former neighbors and (still) friends from Tom Mountain, Annie E. and Kelly E. (and other pals, too, such as speducator, Elizabeth C., who acquired a disability later in her life) as they boast about their association with Kindness Cafe right here in C’ville.
Enjoy the warm feeling from the video and, if you’re in the neighborhood, drop by Kindness Cafe for a beverage and something to munch.
The first voice you see and hear here is Kelly.
Nice post, John. I got to the Y several times a week and am impressed with what goes on in the cafe.
Signed up. Joined. Great to see Beth Cottone featured in the video, too!
