December 26, 1990

Dear John:

How are you doing? It was good talking to you on the phone a week and a half ago, and I just want to thank you for sending the article on learning disability and adults. It did not bring me down, but in fact I feel a lot better after reading it because I do not feel that I am the only one struggling with this. I would like to have my mom read this so she can understand what I’m going through. She does not even understand my biological depression I’ve suffered with.

Well, I do feel a lot better since I’m on the medication, but my doctor may raise up the milligram more if I continue to feel bad around my time of the month (anti-depressant medicine). I am going to joing a manic depression and depression only support group soon so I can learn from others.

My job is going okay. I’ll be looking for something better, less stressful, but fulltime since I’m getting married. I may give vocational rehabilitation one more try.

Brian and I are planning to get married either July 1991 or October 1991, depending on how much money we save up, but we are for sure getting married.

How was your Christmas? Ours was okay. My mother, Brian, my autistic sister Carla and I went over to my married sister Sidney’s house for dinner. We had a very nice ham dinner. My dad did not go because he has not been feeling good. He’s been sick in the last few weeks with an episode of major depression. My mom and I will try to get him to a doctor after the holidays.

This Friday Brian and I are going to a Christmas dinner, dance and awards banquet put on by the Learning Disability Center over at the Holiday Inn in [indecipherable]. We are looking forward to it.

Then on New Year’s Eve Brian and I are going with the church youth group to the parade route on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena to spend the night to see the Rose Parade the next day. Looking forward to that.

I’ve been back into ice skating which is fun, helping out with the Special Olympics by teaching young developmental disabled adults to ice skate. I’m not the greatest, but I just help out and I enjoy ice skating a lot.

Well John, that’s all for now. Keep in touch! Give my love to Pat.

Love,

Angela XXX000

P.S. Please send me a photo of you and Pat and the family
