Another DI podcast: special education
Do you need a serious set of resources about Direct Instruction?
Readers of Special Education Today know that I consider Direct Instruction to be an admirable model for teaching effectively. Consistent with that view, I’ve featured a couple of interviews of DI-related folks by Zach Groshell, including Marcy Stein and Bernadette Kelly, Kathy Madigan, Jan Hasbrouck, and others.
There’s a new one: “How does Direct Instruction support special education?” in which Randi Saulter and Ann Baum (both are experienced teachers across grade levels and who have also done some coaching and professing) explain applications with students with disabilities.
So follow this link to hear what Ms. Baum and Ms. Saulter can tell you about forming groups, working with paraeducators, implementing DI in secondary settings, proselytizing and more: “How does Direct Instruction support special education?”
I have not exhausted the list of interviews, though. The National Institute for Direct Instruction provided an updated list of the podcasts in the series.
