Here in beautyville we did have an overnight weather event, making the morning of Monday 6 January 2025 a snowy one. It was actually a mixture of precipitation, but the icing was only light and it came after the snow. There is more promised for the afternoon-evening of 6 January.

Though I used to shovel the entire driveway, it’s a bit much these days. I might be able to do it over by clearing partial areas at a time. But, early this afternoon I simply dug a path up the drive to the street. Here’s a view of that cleared path.

There had been some melt. I estimate that the original fall was maybe 10-15 cm (~5 inches). The was a little icy crust and then some slush under the snow, so the shovelsful were heavy. But, we can get to the street if we need to do so…and my antique, 4-wheel-drive pick up is parked up there, so we could go somewhere if we needed to do so.

Happy snow day to the local K-12 students!

We ended up with about 10 inches plus slush under the snow here. We only got the bottom part of the driveway done - too much hill at the top part. Then the city came by and filled it all back in again.

Yep. It felt like I was shoveling bricks.
