I always liked the Woodcock Johnson. I've discovered that many schools no longer provide standard scores when writing up Ed/Psych evaluations. I think that is unfortunate. I found standardized tests to be helpful.

Paul, thanks for your observation. As one who leans pretty far onto the teaching side of things, I frequently sought—even depended on—performance measures (e.g., "CBMs"), but I appreciated the utility of standardized measures, as well. When questions concern comparisons to the population ("Is she behind her peers?"), however, standardized measures are very valuable. Woodcock and his collaborators (one of whom subscribes to SET!) did a marvelous job in the development of those measures.
