The folks of the Midwest Symposium for Leadership in Behavior Disorders (MSLBD) and Kansas Technical Assistance System Network (TASN) will hold the fourth Richard L. Simpson Conference on Autism in October of 2022 in Overland Park, KS. Like its sibling, the MSLBD, the Simpson conference has become a go-to event. There will be a range of activities that meet the interests of practitioners, administrators, and researchers.

The meeting is named for Rich Simpson who, in addition to being a wonderfully accomplished special educators, was also a wonderful person—caring, considerate, honest, and thoughtful all day long. Rich founded Focus on Autism and other Developmental Disabilities and published a wealth of scholarly contributions. Learn more by seeing a Kansas University Web page about him.

Rich Simpson was such a great guy. When I was a student at KU we’d often play golf - he’d use his father’s left handed clubs (Rich was right handed) and then proceed to destroy me. Fond memories! MK
