Review reveals functions of aggressive behavior in children with autism
Would you believe the literature on aggressive behavior is patchy?
Publishing in Behavioral Interventions on 17 July 2026, Mao Jieyu, Fang Da, Wang Zhongxu, Yan Junnan, Gao Qianshu, and Wang Tingzhao reported the results of a review of literature focused on aggressive behavior among children with autism spectrum disorder. For “Understanding Aggressive Behavior in Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder: Insights From a Systematic Review,” They located nearly 150 studies (broadly construed) and coded them for both the usual features (e.g., authors, dates) as well as characteristics of the participants, aggressive behaviors (e.g., assessment methods, and functional contingencies).
