National DI Conf
Isn't this one worth attending?
I’ve mentioned the National Direct Instruction Conference and Institutes previously but, because repetition is central to mastery (teehee), I am repeating myself here. The annual National DI Conf in Eugene is the bestest opportunity to learn how to DI the right way. There are sessions on faithful implementation of early literacy, numeracy, and writing curricula, remedial programs, coaching, and way much more.
Each year, the NIFDI folks also invite one or two special speakers and for this 52nd edition they are hosting Carl Hendrick. Professor Hendrick is a fixture on the Intertubes; one can hardly read many of the popular blogs about education without bumping into references to him. He’s a prolific contributor to comtempoary discourse about education with his blog, The Learning Dispatch (to say nothing of his books and academic work).
If that’s not enough, folks who attend are quite likely to be rubbing elbows with teacher heroes like Doug Carnine, Anita Archer, Marcy Stein, Jerry Silbert, and many others. I wish I was going to be there!
