Melding art, ASL, and accessibility
Can you make it all the way through 3 min without liking this message?
On the “Brief But Spectacular” segment of US Public Broadcasting Services’ The News Hour for 2 August 2023, Brandon Kazen-Maddox provided their take on why they promote opportunities for deaf artists to engage in the arts. I found it compelling, and I hope readers do, too.
As one might guest, Th. Karen-Maddox is all over the Internet. Here are a few starter links for those who want to know more about them:
Brandon Kazen-Maddox’s Web site (which might take hours to explore);
ASL Theater for All: Meet Brandon Kazen-Maddox (lots more video);
Brandon Kazen-Maddox (with links to sundry projects); and especially,
The Up Until Now Collective with its focus on promoting integrated, inclusive, accessible, equitable working environments in the arts (intro over Morgan Jones’s Hearshake)..
