Shall we pursue better prospects for individuals with disabilities and their families in the coming years? I hope the answer is a resounding "yes"
Happy new year to all of the readers of Special Education Today. Readers from (say) New Zealand, Australia, and many other parts of Earth that are on the other side of the International Dateline (an arbitrary criterion) than where I live have been celebrating the calendrical new year for hours before I posted this note. I’m glad they are leading the way.
From this time zone, here’s a toast to all y’all from wherever your live on Earth.

And here’s my hope for the coming days, weeks, months, and years: May be work together to seek mutually agreed outcomes for our kids. May we pursue social and academic success for those whom we parent and teach. May we promote practices and policies that give our kids the knowledge, skills, and competencies to have independent and fulfilling futures
We at SET will be coming at you over the next year with ideas about how to pursue those hopes. Please join us in our efforts to teach our children well.
