I believe my doctoral advisor at U. of Pittsburgh, George Maitland, was one of Gerry's doctoral students....making him my professional grandfather. George always spoke highly of his time at UVA.....
Larry, this is a great connection. Thanks for adding it. Gerry had great influence on lots of folks and I like learning about his effects on you!
I think I arrived at UVA the year after George finished his doctorate so I only heard stories about him. Gerry, Rebecca K., Jimmy K, and Dan H. would have more authoritative ones than mine.
Hello, Gerry from Columbus, OH! Nice to see you! I recall with vivid and fond memories our times together with CLD, Pro Ed, and many conference gatherings. Best regards!
Great connections, Tim. Thanks for noting them. That gang of y'all involved in the DCLD-CLD days included lots of contributors who added value to understanding and servicing students with LD.
Yes and yes! Tom kept more hair than I ever had (probably remembers things better than I do, too) and Ann (who's a member around these parts) was wonderful in many things, one of which was steering you to join us.

Nice to see these two folks from my doctoral days at UVa. What a head of hair on Tom!
One of Gerry's students, Ann Ryan at the U. of St. Thomas where I received my masters, was instrumental in getting me to UVa.
