Friday catch-up notes—2026-03-06
What tidbits should we have wr post this week?
Editor’s note: This post contains snippets about stories, resources, and observations that the SET authors didn’t quite have time to develop into full-blown posts over the past week. I’m hoping we can catch up with our in-boxes. We didn’t want you, Dear Readers, to miss them. Some of them may later appear as a part (or parcel) of a full-blown post.—JohnL

Paul Coyne’s Paul’s Substack of Useful Information—This ‘stack included a dang valuable post in January of 2026 about concept learning. It’s a report about a behavior analytic view of teaching concepts. If one reads it closely (or even quickly), she’ll see that Paul’s singing the song of effective instruction.
Over on her Disruptive Educator, Caiti Wade had an interesting post called “why are you so defensive about getting better? Shifting the conversation from “it works” to “can it be better?” It’s about why educators sometimes respond defensively when discussing teaching with consultants. I was reminded of the May Angelou quote: “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”
Make sure to review the EAC Weekly Read. As usual, it is chock-a-block with links to good [poop] about effective instruction.
