Understood.org is providing an opportunity to listen to and participate in a discussion of its podcast series called “Zero Reject.” On 29 October 2026 at 6:00 PM (eastern), Understood will convene “A panel discussion and Q&A with host Anya Kamenetz.” The live session will be held in New York City and it will also be available as a livestream via YouTube.
Here is Understood’s pitch:
Nearly 9 million public school students have an IEP or a 504 plan. But for many families, there’s a gap between the legal promise of special education and what actually happens at school. And as policies shift, that promise feels less certain than ever before.
Join Understood and host Anya Kamenetz to mark the launch of Zero Reject, our new investigative podcast. Together, we’ll have an honest conversation about where special education stands today — and what comes next.
The Zero Reject podcasts examined the challenges people confront when seeking an appropriate education for their children, especially the families of children with disabilities. The podcasts are hosted by journalist Anya Kamenetz. Dear Readers will remember that we mentioned them 30 September 2026 in “Understood launches Zero Reject podcast series.”
One can review (rehear?) the published episodes of Zero Reject. Check here for details about the live discussion and how to secure tickets (free or donation).
