Dear John—Letters from Angela—5
What would it be like to appear on TV?
May 21, 1990
Dear John, How are you doing? I did not mean to complain about the job. It was just stress.
Things are a lot better. Part of the problem was that I’ve had not been feeling well in the last few months. I was really moddy, and cranky and had abdominal pains until the last straw fell. I’ve had to go into the Emergency Room at the hospital a month ago April 17th with sharp abdominal pains on my right side. It was mid night when I went to the hospital and I had major abdominal surgury the next morning and they removed my appendix and there were cysts on my ovary also. So they also removed the cysts and part of my right ovary. Right now I am recovering and it’s been two weeks since I went back to work. So I’m starting to feel a lot better now back to my old self.
Work is going a lot better for me. My job coach has been helping me out. I’ve also had to keep up my work habits which I’ve done and I’ve learned a lot of hard lessons too. As a result I’ve been getting higher sales. I am starting to become one of the top producers in the company too. Today I was the very top producer which makes me feel great. I rather work than sitting on my butt at home living of SSI. Thats me I take pride in this job.
The reason why I am writing you is to let you know that I am going to appearing on television nationally in three weeks. The program is going to be about Learning Disabilities and the Center that I’ve been attending for the help I’ve been recieving. I am going to be appearing on the program with three other clients I attend the center with and who are very close friends of mine. The first part of the program there is going to be a showing of us talking in a group panel about our difficulties and what we gotten out of the Center and what we would like to see happened. The second part will show each of us individually being interviewed by the person who is video taping us. He’ll ask us about how we overcome our problems. The third part will show each of us who is working at my company. The name of the show will be probably the title Rehabilitation Center for Brain Dysfunction. Look for that in the T.V. guide 3 weeks from now. Its going to be on Cable and the independent t.v. channels in your community. Maybe L [former teacher] will let you know since you keep in touch.
Well thats all for now! Keep in touch!
Give my love to Pat, and Teddy [former teacher]!
