D. Fuchs appointed to U. S. National Board for Education Sciences
On 27 October 2022, U. S. President Joseph Biden announced that he intends to appoint 14 individuals, including Doug Fuchs, to serve on the National Board for Education Sciences. The 15-member board is charged with adivsing the director of the Institute of Education Sciences, including creating priorities for IES.
Many readers of Special Education Today will be familiar with Professor Fuchs’ work. Along with Lynn Fuchs, Doug has published 100s of papers including reports of original reearch, analyses of issues, and discussions of ideas related to special education. He has also contributed to professional organizations (e.g., the Division for Learning Disabilities).
Some previous members of the board—e.g., David Chard and Dan Willingham—may also be familiar to readers of SET.
