The Division for Research of the Council for Exceptional Children issued its annual call for nominations for awards. As shown in the accompanying image, there is an abundance of awards in specific areas. Nominations are due by 1 November 2026.

These are prestigious awards. Recipients of them, including many members of the Special Education Today community, are among the most widely recognized researchers in special education.
The accompanying photo shows the usual suspects at the award ceremony in 2013 when Lynn and Doug Fuchs received the Kauffman-Hallahan-Pullen Award.

Here is a partial list1 of the recipients of the K-H-P Award over the years: Hill Walker; Lynn and Doug Fuchs; Mary Brownell; Karen Harris and Steve Graham; Rob Horner; Kathleen Lane; Naomi Zigmond; Ann Turnbull; Nancy Jordan; Patricia Snyder; Sam Odom; and Paul Morgan.
Here is a photo of a group of students whom DR recognized in 2015. I regret that I do not have the names of all the students, but at the extreme left and right are Jean Crockett and Mary Theresa Kiely, respectively, leaders of the selection team.
Visit the DR Web pages—the image of the flyer is also linked—to learn more about the awards, including eligibility and nomination procedures.
Footnote
The new DR Web site that is managed under the CEC Web system seems to have lost lots of the data on recipients, and it has inconsistencies. I’m working from my old records and my faulty memory, to generate this list. Please do not consider it complete or authoritative.
