Applications available for fellowships recognizing literacy teachers
What is Goyen Foundation doing to support teachers' dissemination of effective instruction?
Goyen Foundation announced that it is accepting applications for Goyen Literacy Fellowships until 28 February 2025. The literacy fellowships are one of Goyen Foundation efforts to recognize and celebrate effective reading instruction. The fellowships supports and amplifies fellows’ work by providing opportunities to share their expertise with other fellows and other teachers and by awarding fellows a $2000 stipend.
This is an excellent opportunity for readers of Special Education Today to advance effective teaching of reading. Teachers can nominate deserving peers, administrators can recognize colleagues who do deliver effective instruction day in and day out, and researchers can reward collaborators who implement effective practices and procedures.
Although nominated teachers may be focusing on younger students and foundational literacy competencies, fellows also have focused on comprehension, reading to learn, and literacy in higher grades.
