A little spring lollygagging
What would a couple-a-few academics do on a Friday afternoon?
Sometimes professors take advantage of their environs, especially when it’s a fine spring day. Some professors might desert their offices for a visit to a garden with friends to talk about abstract ideas. Others might get away for a walk around manicured lawns, chasing a little, white ball. \One of my colleagues offered an alternative on a lovely Friday afternoon.
Professor Michael Kennedy invited me to join him on a University of Virginia outing. Then I learned that we would be accompanied by other colleagues, and one of them was William Therrien. So, there is the setting: two renowned special education researchers—Michael and Bill—sitting on either side of some old guy (in a blue hat) attending a Univeristy of Virginia baseball game.

Can you imagine this? These young fellas humoring me? If some Dear Reader doesn’t know about these special special educators, they might want to do some research about Bill and Michael..mmm…cough, cough…profes…cough…. Dr. Kennedy.
Not only are Michael and Bill friends and colleagues, but they are among the people who do a lot for kids with disabilities and their teachers. If I get lucky, I might get to attend another sporting event with them, too. Special thanks to Michael for snapping the selfie with my phone.
